Professor Russell Dale (51 years old) is a paediatric neurologist and clinical academic specializing in paediatric neurology, neurodevelopment and neuroimmunology, and works at the University of Sydney (Sydney Medical School) and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead (CHW), the largest children’s Hospital in NSW. His current appointment is Professor of Paediatric Neurology and Head of School. His clinical qualifications are MBChB (1992), MRCP (1995) and his academic qualifications are MSc (2000) and PHD (2006). He is a leading expert in autoimmune neurology and immune-brain interactions that affect the developing brain. He has led international diagnostic consensus criteria, discovered novel diagnostic biomarkers, and led clinical trials to improve clinical outcomes for children with neurological disease.
