Director, Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring (IONM) Program.

Professor of Neurology and Neurological Sciences, and Neurosurgery at Stanford University School of Medicine.

First Vice President of the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society (ACNS)

He received his MD from University of Washington, Seattle, and completed residency in Neurology and fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology and Neuromuscular Diseases at Stanford University Medical Center.

 

His clinical practice encompasses a variety of clinical neurophysiologic areas, but his focus is in IONM and the use of botulinum toxins for treatment of neurologic disorders.  The Stanford IONM Program monitors over 1700 adult and pediatric operative cases annually, covering many surgical and endovascular specialties.  They have a very active clinical research program, which focuses on investigating novel methods for assessing and monitoring central and peripheral nervous system function. 

Dr. López is very active in national and international teaching and education and with the support of ACNS promotes the field of IONM and Clinical Neurophysiology.
